National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Boston Emmy DInner 05/23/2010

I am so proud of the 4 Emmy nominations we earned for our work on Vermont Spotlight.  In our first year in business as Vermont Spotlight we've created 18 short videos and two half hours shows.  We didn't take home a statue this year, but we feel we're off to a great start and are grateful to our friends who continue to encourage us.

We have assembled a great team, it has been a pleasure to work with Kelley and Doug Lewis and with our assistant Traci on these videos spotlighting some of Vermont's gems

How do I get people to watch my video on line? 05/12/2010

If you take your video, no matter how good it is, and simply post it to youtube, the chances are not very many people will watch it.

So how do you get people to watch your video?  One way is to purchase a package (like our Vermont Spotlight product) that includes placement.  The other way is promote, promote, promote.

TWITTER
When you post your video tweet a link to it.  Go ahead and tweet it a few times, people come and go on twitter and you will reach different people at different times of day.  But don't overdo it, 2 or 3 times is enough.  Then ask your friends and colleagues to tweet it to their followers too.

FACEBOOK
If you have a video on youtube, you can simply post a link in your status update, people will be able to watch the video within Facebook.  With the most recent version of Facebook, friends can share the link too.  If you want it to be seen by everyone, check your privacy settings to be sure you haven't limited who can watch.

BLOG
If you have a blog, you can embed the video and post it right in your blog.  Be sure to include text with the video to help google find it.

E MAIL
If you have an e mail newsletter, let everyone know that you have a new video.  Be sure to include a direct link, either to the video on youtube, or to your blog post.

LINKEDIN
If you have a business profile on linkedin, be sure to post a link and a little description as an update, and pass it on to groups that might be interested.

YOUTUBE
Last but not least, be sure you take advantage of Youtube's features.  Pick titles, tags and descriptions that will help you be found, and be sure you include your URL in the description.
