M.A.D. Productions: Pittsfield, Vermont
Finally, our journey in the Northeast concludes in Vermont
by going a bit
north to the small town of Pittsfield, near the Killington Ski
Resort. It
only seems appropriate that M.A.D. Productions, a company that
specializes in
Outdoor Sports programming, should enjoy the benefits of being
based in this
scenic part of the state.
The decision to locate in this area was made by M.A.D. Productions
President
Marion Dane, who desired an escape from New York after a six
month stint as
an assistant editor on a Frontline show about fatal child abuse.
Ten years
later, her company is enjoying its busiest year yet during its
four and a
half year run.
A few recent projects for the company include The State of
Vermont's Winter
TV campaign, Chevy Trucks US Ski Team Athlete Profiles, and the
Get Geared
and Gear Up equipment tip series with Paul Hochman.
While M.A.D. Productions offers full production services for
outdoor sports
programming, the core of the company is its post-production work
and
broadcast design. Dane says that sophisticated editing is one
service that
brings clients back again and again.
"As an editor with 10 years experience and with a background
in fine arts and
design, I believe one of the strengths I bring to our projects
is the ability
to integrate editing with design."
Looking ahead, M.A.D. Productions is preparing for future
growth by building
a new office space that is scheduled for completion by the end
of the summer.
